First off, I must say that this picture makes me so happy. Just look at him! And you know he's about to say something crazy, like, "Your camera work is PICTURE PERFECT! A++++"
Which brings me to Gene Shalit's reviews - in a word: "CRAPTASTIC!" Is there anything this man doesn't like? Can he put a positive spin on anything?
The March To The Fuehrer (Nazi propaganda film):
"REICH Up My Alley! A real GAS!"
All Is For Allah (Al-Qaeda propaganda film):
"TERROR-ably Entertaining! The only BOMB here was strapped to a child!"
Brown Eye For The Gay Guy #7 (exactly the kind of film you think it is):
"I was NUTS about this film! REACH-AROUND for your wallet - you'll want to see it twice!"
Do you think he talks this way at home?
I am so convinced that Phil Spector is the illegitimate child of Gene Shallit, or maybe it's the other way around. Whichever one is older..

To answer your question, "Is there anything this man doesn't like?"...yes, over 20 years ago Gene didn't like the now classic Oscar winner for Best Picture 'Terms of Endearment'. I distinctly remember writing him off after that review. He's simply a dork.
